The newly launched Scrappage Scheme, available to all car buyers who own a car over 10 years old has been a resounding success so far, according to many manufacturers and third-party car websites.
Introduced a couple of weeks ago as a method for car buyers to buy a brand new car, the Car Scrappage Scheme was launched to boost car sales across the board. It offers new car buyers a £2,000 saving for those who have a taxed, insured and MOT'd car that is over 10 years old.
With almost 10 million cars on the UK roads that are eligible for the scheme, it is offered to buyers who want to take advantage of the scheme to help them to save money off a new car, as well as kick-start the automotive economy, which has been widely publicised to be suffering over the last year since the credit crunch took hold.
It will run from the beginning of May to the end of March 2010. Most manufacturers have said that they are committed to the scheme.

Lucy and I have just been to visit Blists Hill Victorian 'village', set in the rural yet cosmopolitan town of Ironbridge, Shropshire. Styled as a Victorian town, it gives visitors a unique insight into how life was like in Victorian times.
It's a special place for Lucy and I. We had our very first date at Blists Hill, and it's where we first got to know each other, so it holds very special memories for us. Unfortunately it's rather costly to get in nowadays. At an astonishing £13.25 we think it's pretty darn expensive, considering you can get a year-long passport entitling you to unlimited access for the whole ten museums for just £19.99.
Anyway, Blists Hill is a recommended day out. There's not a great deal to keep the kids amused, but it's a good way of killing a few hours when the sun's out.

This is Traffic Update (www.traffic-update.co.uk), another way of checking what the current road and motorway traffic is like for roads in the UK. It was built a couple of years ago, starting off with virtually no traffic, and it was left for well over a year.
Once some decent traffic started getting to it, it was redesigned from the ground up to support the users, and was awarded the accolade of a Best New Website in Web User magazine recently.
If you want to see what the traffic is like in your area, visit the site at Traffic Update and Travel News
